It was a privilege to write the introduction to Kate’s marvelous stories. Sadly, she passed away shortly after I had finished it, and I had the stomach-churning task of recasting present tense into past. Kate influenced a generation of writers, myself included. I believe her work will be a revelation to new readers…it is an oeuvre certainly worthy of rereading, an oeuvre that transcends genres. Vale, Kate Wilhelm, I will never forget you and your numinous work.
Paul Di Filippo wrote this review of the volumes.
Centipede Press certainly does beautiful books!
She was a teacher of mine at Clarion in Wisconsin. A great teacher, and a friend ever after that–but I think that was true of almost everyone she ever taught.
Hey, Greg,
She was one of my heroes. A wonderful writer and a lovely person.
